Born in Austin, Built to Grow
We launched in Austin because it's home to an incredible community of craftspeople, designers, and makers. The city's creative spirit and entrepreneurial energy made it the perfect place to start.
Our first 25 artisan partners are all Austin-based, and we've personally visited every workshop. We know the hands that craft each piece.
But this is just the beginning. We're actively expanding to partner with exceptional makers nationwide—bringing the same level of curation and quality to artisans everywhere.

Meet Tom & Bryan
Two design obsessives from opposite coasts who met in Austin, Texas — and decided the world deserved better than disposable furniture. Alloy & Ash is what happened next.
Tom Petrini

"Design is how I turn feeling into function."
Tom grew up in small-town Pennsylvania, the kid who took apart every chair in the house just to see how it was joined. After years bouncing between furniture workshops in Lancaster County and design studios on the East Coast, he developed an obsession with makers who still cut their own dovetails by hand. He moved to Austin chasing better tacos and a livelier design scene — and ended up finding a business partner instead.
Bryan Petro

Bryan was raised in California, where mid-century homes, surf culture, and a steady diet of design magazines convinced him early that the things in your home should mean something. He spent a decade in brand and product before burning out on disposable goods and fast furniture. A long weekend in Austin turned into a permanent move, a chance meeting with Tom over a flat white, and the napkin sketch that became Alloy & Ash.
